This was a fun thing I did last summer on Facebook and thought it a good way to introduce myself as I start. I have a second list of Non-Fiction Books, I needed two lists for all the great ones! All the books below have been read multiple times.
Fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.
1) Anne of Green Gables (series) by LM Montgomery
2) Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
3) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
4) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
5) Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder [had the whole set and read til they fell apart]
6) Paddington Bear series by Michael Bond [given 5 or 6 of his books and read them til they fell apart]
7) The Hobbit (and LOTR) By J.R.R. Tolkien
8) The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis
9) Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy
10) Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
11) Silas Marner by George Eliot (pseudonym for Mary Ann Evans)
12) The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde [not a beloved one but the lesson and visual imagery has stuck with me way past high school]
13) The Island of the Blue Dolphin by Scott O'Dell
14) Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
15) Cricket in Times Square By George Selden
That's a great list! I've read most of them, and there are a few that I STILL haven't.
ReplyDeleteI love your Mother poem on the side. :-)
I took note of some of the books you posted here and added them to my reading list. Carl brought home Island of the Blue Dolphins from the library for me today :)
