I love to write and in person I talk a lot. I've thought about starting a blog for years, but when we had dial up it just seemed next to impossible. And then my perfectionism took over and I couldn't start until I had time to do it perfectly! I've been working on some lists to share, to get this started and share more about me and THAT took all day...literally...I work for a bit, walk away, come back and tweak it, and then tweaked some more, edit this, change that. I'm DONE!
I love reading the blogs of my friends both IRL and those that I've met online. I don't know that I will add that much to the blogworld, but mainly love the idea of an outlet for my writer self and a way to connect with those I love that don't "do" Facebook. Bear with me as I learn the ropes and I will post some lists for fun, next.
I've always wanted to be a Mom and as a Christian feel we have been so BLESSED by our large brood. I have been Momma to my children for yrs though it does often get shortened to MOM!! :) So that's where Blessed Momma comes from. As to the name of my blog, well, I have often said, "Little things make me smile!" or "Little things excite me!" and so it just fit...It's the Little Things... Think about it isn't it the little things that really matter and make LIFE GOOD! A hug from a teen that had been surly just moments before, a glass of cold water on a hot day, the feel of rain during a drought, the trust of a child, the voice of a friend when you feel all alone, finding a 5 dollar bill you forgot about, a baby's innocent smile, and the embrace of a spouse, not to mention things like running water, and air conditioning, too :-).
Yes, indeed, it is the Little Things that matter! Think about it...I bet you can think of many more...and remember to be thankful for the little things! God is Good...all the time!
I feel like I have known you, know you, and can't wait to meet you. This totally inspired me in so many ways. You have reminded me of my purpose and my blessings. I smiled, laughed out loud, related and teared up as I read your true words. Amazing! You have touched my heart and picked me up this evening!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great introduction to bloggie land.
ReplyDeleteLittle things do matter so much. And it's the "little people" that need so much of us and, yet, the world seems to overlook them. Yes, little things matter a great deal!!
I look forward to getting to know you better through blogging. This online world is a great way to pass on ideas, inspiration, thoughts, photos... you name it. It's like a scrapbook/ journal/ portfolio/ and correspondence all combined-- good for the soul!
PS Go to gadgets and add a subscription one, so I can type in my email and get updates. I could do it through feedburner, but it would probably be good to have it directly on your site. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope that helps.
@Margaret, thank you for your words! I love to write anyway, but I am at heart an encourager and thrilled me that I could pick you up. I cannot wait to meet you in real life as well. I really identified w/you on the breastfeeding post. I had complete strangers in w-m, etc, when I was discreetly nursing, come up and say, we used to nurse our babies, too, good job! And don't worry, we only know what you're doing cause we did it too :) Just really encouraged me when I was starting out! I love to encourage other moms the way I was!
ReplyDelete@Wendy, I have been blogging in my head for years as I've read others and have ideas, cannot wait to finally get them out. I'm looking into gadgets as soon as I post this. That's the kind of tips/help I need. THANKS!
